Meet The Director/CEO
Carmen is the heart and guiding force behind Soulful Abilities. With qualifications in Disability (Cert III) and Mental Health (Cert IV), and currently studying a Diploma in Holistic Counselling and Mental Health, she brings both expertise and deep compassion to her work.
She leads with empathy, clarity, and calm strength, creating a space where participants feel valued, staff feel supported, and families feel heard. Carmen balances strong operations with genuine care, ensuring all support is delivered with respect and integrity.
Her approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, encouraging growth, independence, and wellbeing. Through open communication and a belief in each person’s potential, Carmen helps individuals discover their strengths and feel a true sense of belonging.
Carmen is often out in the community—supporting clients, joining fundraisers, and dreaming up ideas to uplift her team and refine their work.
Beyond Soulful Abilities, she’s a proud mum of three who loves day trips to the hills, camping in the Flinders Ranges, the colour green, and has a unique obsession with cloud formations and weather phenomena.
